Yagazie Emezi is a photographer and cartoonist who's changing the way we see and think about Africa. Through her documentary style photography, her Instagram captures gorgeous landscapes and raw, diverse beauty in her intimate shots of everyday people. Her goal to preserve the African aesthetic is fulfilled across her feed. 

A lot of firsts - got handed a red knob starfish, Disney/Pixar really had me believing that all starfish are squishy. This particular starfish is very hardy and can tolerate chemistry changes in their atmosphere - can be found in shallow tidal pools and 100ft deep reefs. Still, just put it back where you found it. Ayuba sits still in class. He doesn't pay attention when the teacher talks to other students but he is always alert when the teacher returns to the chalkboard. Ayuba can't hear or speak. All the teachers brag about how smart he is and how he keeps up with the class by memorizing the words he sees and their definitions. He has been enrolled in the same school from nursery.
