A Month in Review (June 2025)
Rediscovering myself was the theme for June. I did a lot of reflecting on the past, to understand where I am and who I am in this present moment. I realized that, with my YouTube channel, in particular, I had all the right pieces; I just didn’t know how to put them together. But that’s the beauty of it all. I’m evolving and growing in real time. If you go to my YouTube channel, you can see where I started to where I am now. And to be honest, the oldest video on my channel isn’t the oldest I’ve created! (RIP to the videos I deleted in embarrassment and cringe💔).
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to have my own TV show. Women like Oprah Winfrey, Ananda Lewis, and Soledad O’Brien inspired me. The Disney Channel and PBS Kids inspired me. I was a little girl with big dreams. I’m still that little girl with big dreams. I’ve been on this journey of “figuring it out” for a long time, and for the first time, in a long time, I can truly see my dream unfolding.
I’ve learned that with every generation, there are trailblazers who not only make a lane for themselves but also show that the possibilities are endless. There isn’t just one way to make it happen. I’m learning that what I envision for myself is possible, but I have to do it my way. A way that’s never been done before. And yes, there’s nothing new under the sun, but the way we present ideas is unique to us. We all have a beautiful, unique perspective to share. We’re all creating the blueprint to our lives.
Every day is a learning lesson and a step closer to my dreams. I’m excited and I know that everything is coming together how it’s supposed to be. I know that in due time, everything I’ve dreamed of and worked for will come to fruition even better than what I could’ve ever imagined. What a joyous blessing that is!
WHAT I…
Enjoyed most in this month!
WHAT I BOUGHT
I went to ThriftCon NYC in Brooklyn with my sisters, and one of the items I bought was this Levi’s denim jacket. Not only was the price great, but the fit was perfect! I walked away a happy camper and a new addition to my denim jacket collection. I love a denim jacket, especially during the fall and spring.
WHAT I WATCHED
I’m a long time Love Island fan. I started watching the UK series during season 5 and fell in love with the chaos. Last year I decided to give Love Island USA another go round, after hearing great reviews of season 6 (which I loved). Fast forward to now, season 7 and 26 episodes in; it’s been a whirlwind. The cast has been through it and so has America! I’m really curious to see who is gonna take home that cash prize. If I had to choose? My vote goes to Amaya Papaya.
WHAT I LISTENED TO
Kehlani’s “Folded” has been on repeat ever since I first heard it. It’s absolutely amazing. Kehlani’s harmonies, runs, stacks, I don’t even know the proper terminology, etc. etc., are so beautiful! If I could nominate the song for a Grammy, I would.
WHAT I DID
From soap making, to thirfting/flea markets, and trips to New York, I did a lot of exploring with my loved ones. My schedule has been packed more than usual, but I’m grateful! I’m taking it all in before the weather cools down again. I also spent time Cheers to more memories and exploring.
BEAUTY FAVORITE
My go-to beauty favorite!
My skin has been going through it and as it’s healing and repairing itself, I’ve been loving La Roche-Posay ‘s Lipikar AP+M Triple Repair Body Moisturizing Cream. It’s perfect for dry and/or sensitive skin. I not only use it on my body, but I use it on my face too!
WHAT I WORE
Remixed!
I made a series of lookbooks in June and here is one of them!
